WSOB Downtime. . .

A little bit of comedic irony?

This is the door that we walk in every day we go to work at the World Series of Bowling

Chameleon vs. Scorpion

wsob

Chameleon Championship Details:

Crossed with Shannon O’ Keefe and Michelle Feldman. Wanted to keep my angles straight throughout the block since the pattern is in strips.  Started with a Total Inferno because it read evenly and could play up the lane with the ball.  Balls that also looked good on the Chameleon were the Siege, and Maxx Zone because they gave me the most even reaction.

Second block I threw the C.System pin up which allowed me more angle into the pocket.  As soon as it was a little jumpy, I changed to the C.System pin down then to Destruction at the end of the block playing the fade into the pocket up the back of the ball.

Qualifying came down to the last game, last frame.  I needed the first one in the tenth to advance to match play.  I did, and bowled CDB the next morning at 9am.

My look on the fresh was extremely good.  I had the front 6 the first game, but as soon as my reaction with that Maxx Zone went away, I couldn’t find anything as quick as I needed to.  CDB was able to control the pocket and carry.  She advanced and then went on to qualify for the TV show.

A few quotes that have been inspiring to me lately:

” I hope my achievements in life shall be these. . .

that I fought for what was right and fair,

that I took risks for things that mattered, that I helped those in need,

that I left the earth a better place because of what I did and who I was.”

Scorpion_4713The scorpion pattern didn’t go as well as I would have liked… I don’t feel like I had the perfect matchup.  It was a grind.  Going into the last game I had a chance to make the cut.. along with 5 other girls.  I played it safe as I didn’t want to give away the pocket.  Looking for too much reaction could have easily resulted in a 150 game.  I figured if I continued to do what I was doing (Throwing the Siege around 19, up the back and at the pocket) that I could get a few lucky breaks and shoot 225.  That’s really all it would have taken.  Scores were low, pattern played tough.

Next up: The Shark Pattern. Dun Dut. Dun Dut Dun Dut.
