Bowl Expo 2009
Jun 28th
A huge thanks goes to Jessica Baker and Kassy Golden for helping me at Bowl Expo. Without then, I am pretty sure I would have lost my head somewhere. They helped me put the booth up, sell, sell, sell, and break the booth down. They were real troopers and never complained once. I am so lucky to have such great friends. Thanks Kas and Jess! (also thanks to Blaize who was very patient on Thursday at Bowl Expo when she had to keep herself busy in our dressing room with her little friend Alyssa Ballard)
Bowl Expo was a success.. sellling shirts close to the 100s! Everyone had such nice things to say about my new shirts, jackets, and we even sold the pants! Thanks to everyone who stopped by and checked out our booth. Even if it was for the free chopsticks.. or chapsticks
Here are some photos of our booth at Bowl Expo 2009.

Also a big thanks goes to my “Egyptian Magician” Sherif Adel from Egypt! I found Sherif when I posted a “I need a graphic designer” post on Facebook. He showed me his online portfolio and I knew he was a perfect Kaizen by diandra match. Welcome to the team, Sherif!

Sherif is only 24 years old and is an art director in Egypt. I highly suggest anyone that needs any graphic design work done to email him at design@stonegrafx.com

Here is just a glimpse of what he did for Kaizen by diandra.
MORE THANKS:

Waking up in Vegas.
Jun 28th
Blaize is a super flyer. Thanks to the Nintendo DS I bought her for her birthday, she was able to stay occupied throughout the entire flight. With the occasional pull at my shirt and little Blaize voice that said, “Aunt Dee Dee, can you wake up now?” I had a nice little nap Vegas bound.
When we arrived in Vegas after a few delays, my sister, Kassy was there to meet us. While she stayed with all the bags, I went for the rental car. It seemed like everything I did today was a test of my patience. Long lines everywhere. Nothing was moving fast.
The only item I had on my “to do” list was to hit up the USBC Open Championships practice session at the Gold Coast with Mike Jasneau. I heard that it was worth it to see what Mike had to say about the tournament he was an expert in. He saw all the good teams come in and out of Vegas. He saw what worked, what seemed like was going to work, and what didn’t work. I figured it was worth it to give it a try.
The 6 balls I brought to the USBC Open Championships were: Siege, Rattler, Maxx Zone, Wild Thing, Wild Ride, T Zone. I heard a lot of people say that the Wild Ride had a really good look there. During the practice session, I found a good look with the Wild Thing, and Wild Ride. Mike made sure that we understood that we had to start breaking the lane down further to the right. Even if the shot didn’t look great there the first game, it would create something really good the second and third games. We all practiced being in the right part of the lane to simulate what we would be doing the next afternoon at 2:30pm. I was happy with everyone’s look on the lanes. My team consisted of my sister, Kassy Golden, great friends from college, Paola Gomez and Kari Schwager, and a good friend and past Team USA member, Marcia Kloemken.
The practice session proved right, when we ended up shooting 3179 in Team and are currently in 27th Place. Not too shabby for an all women’s team. You can see all my scores here: My USBC Open Championship Scores Here!
For those that don’t care to click on the above link, I had 672 in Team, 649 in Doubles, and 619 in Singles for 1940 All Events. All I cared about is beating my husbands score of 1933. He bowls one tournament a year, I couldn’t let him beat me! I used the Wild Thing to start most squads, then moved right to the Wild Ride, and when I needed a ball that read the midlane a little better, I switched to the Maxx Zone.
